It’s the beginning of July and that means Camp NaNoWriMo! My goal is to finish the replot of my second book in my Reveal Me series.
Originally I had hoped to have the first draft completed by the end of June, but you know how that goes. Didn’t happen. What did happen, among other things, is that one of my main characters, the love interest, my honey bunny, did not do as I expected him to. This happens a lot with him. He remains an enigma and maybe that’s one of the reasons I love him so. Anyway, his throwing a wrench into the works meant that I spent all of June replotting. So that’s my goal for this Camp NaNo: finish writing the first draft through the end of Act Two, aka the Black Moment, aka the Ordeal. Hopefully I won’t have too many more ordeals in my actual writing progress. Oh, famous last words.
I can tell you that this morning, still being in recovery from my marathon website building week, that the last thing I wanted to do was sit down and write some freaking words. I resorted to the old trick of “I’m just gonna sit down for one sprint. One sprint, that’s it, done, move on with my life.”
Well, one sprint turned into two and I finished the scene! It’s inspired by one between Arabella and Terry in the pilot episode of I May Destroy You. Thank you, Michaela Coel!

Are you doing Camp NaNoWriMo this month?
You know, I just might join you. I have a manuscript that needs finishing.
Yay! Let’s do this!
